Letters, 1811-1871.

Letters written to the Rev. Joseph Allen, minister of the Northborough, Massachusetts, First Parish Church from 1816 to 1873. The early letters in the collection are mostly from Allen's Harvard classmates George Morey, Thomas Prentiss, and Joseph Haven. Many of the later correspondents are fellow clergymen, including Hiram Withington, pastor of the Leominster First Congregational Society (Unitarian), whom Allen helped prepare for the ministry.
